Collaboration

After getting in touch with BlueShores, we will explore together what it is that BlueShores can help your company with. When you are looking for people, we will define the roles and responsibilities. If you are looking to outsource IT complexity, we will explore what the desired outcomes are, and BlueShores will come with a proposal tailored to your company.

Once we agree on how to continue, a framework agreement between your company and BlueShores will be set up, detailing over arching topics, like your intelectual property rights, as well as what you can and cannot expect from BlueShores.

As your team is hired, a Statement of Work will come into effect, detailing the services you are currently subscribed to. The Statement of Work will be updated every time your team or services package is upgraded or downgraded.

Hiring

With a framework agreement in place, and a green light for recruitement, BlueShores will start hiring the people they need to meet your needs. On average, this takes anywhere from 1 to 3 months. In this period, we follow these steps:

  1. We create a profile description for the open position, and ask you to review this.
  2. Once the profile is approved, we start recruiting for this position.
  3. BlueShores will have a two-step pre-selection process:
    • An online, personal interview, and
    • A technical challenge, to test the skills of the candidate.
  4. Once passed, the top candidates are proposed to our contact person at your company. Adittional “client interviews” can be scheduled at this point.
  5. Once both you and BlueShores agree that we have found the right candidate, we will update the statement of work, and hire the candidate.

Note that this is the default process. If you so desire, we can deviate from this, for example, to get you more or less involved in the process.

Working with Time Difference

As our IT professionals work from the Philippines, there is a time difference to take into account. During summer time, the Philippines is 6 hours ahead of UTC (Amsterdam time), while during winter time, this is 7 hours. In other words, as you start your workday at 9am, it is already 15:00 or 16:00 in the Philippines, while noon local time would be 18:00 or 19:00 in the Philippines.

To optimise collaboration, and avoid forcing people to work unfavorable working hours, we ask our clients to schedule their meetings between 9am and noon. During the remaining hours, we prefer to give our professionals the freedom to decide if they would like to work before this fixed time slot, or after it, depending on their preference. However, a client does have an option to further specify these hours.

Managing your Team

Depending on the services you have selected from BlueShores, your IT professionals might come with our without a BlueShores supervisor to manage their day to day work. Regardless, our professionals will always have a personal manager at BlueShores to take care of employee happiness. This person also doubles as, or is in close communication with the client – BlueShores liaison.

One of the responsibilities of our personal managers is to have regular one-on-one meetings with our professionals to flag any potential concerns early on, so that we can address them before they become a problem. We also support our employees with a personal development plan, so they can develop themselves further. As this is also in the interest of our clients, we ask our clients to reserve 5% of the employee working time for this, so that they can actually work on their personal development plan for half a day every two weeks. That way, we keep our people happy, and up-to-date with the latest industry standards.

Why BlueShores?

The three unique selling points of BlueShores are:

  1. Engaged IT Experts
By treating our employees with respect and dignity, and by listening and showing appreciation for their input, we go above and beyond delivering “code monkeys”. Our professionals pride themselves in their way of working, and the quality they deliver, not just to you as their client, but to the end users. This shows in the fact that our IT professionals are known to proactively provide input and suggestions, instead of just nodding yes to everything you say.
  2. We make it work for you
We are not hell-bend on a rigit collaboration template. Instead, we look at the needs of your company that brought you to us, and tailor our services to your needs. We also understand that, especially for growing companies, this need can change at any time. If your business needs change, we want to be there to change our services to match your needs.
  3. IT Management with European Expertise
BlueShores was founded out of practical needs by industry veterans. With nearly 20 years of product management and consulting experience between the founders, most of which in the Dutch and German market, while working with hybrid or remote IT teams, we know how to turn remote working into a success story.
